Rotarians pitch in for a worthy cause at Camp Korey

On a rainy Saturday in early June, a group of 11 Rotarians, plus 2 volunteers met at Camp Korey and worked for 3 hours moving trees along a river bank and setting up rows of smaller trees. Led by Gary Lorenz, the group had a great time together, getting to know each other and helping a worthy cause. Camp Korey is affiliated with Serious Fun, an organization begun by Paul Newman. Their purpose is to create empowering, adaptive year-round programs for children and their families dealing with life-altering medical conditions, completely free of charge. It is located at the former site of Camp Brotherhood off Highway 9, just south of Lake McMurray.
