Over fifty-five (55) Mount Vernon Rotary Club members, family and friends got together at Camp Korey on Saturday, April 27 for a Rotary Day of Caring
Over fifty-five (55) Mount Vernon Rotary Club members, their family and friends met at Camp Korey on Saturday, April 27 to plant trees, build greenhouses and construct flower boxes, and perform other assorted tasks.   Club President Brad Methner said about the event, “I believe it may have been the largest turnout we have ever had for any service project. Many thanks to Gary Lorenz and Ian Crawford for seeing this project through. It was a true inspiration to see what we can do when we all come together. A huge thanks to every one of you who brought friends and family to volunteer at Camp Korey.”

This approach to service matches the four components of the vision and mission of Mount Vernon Rotary Club to provide Literacy, Learning. Leadership and Service to the community and to the world.
Planting trees, building window boxes and a greenhouse are just a few of the many tasks our volunteers performed on April 27 at Camp Korey.  Camp Korey empowers children and families living with serious medical conditions with a camping experience that is offered year-round.  We applaud and support the work they do for this under-served group.
